Cast Iron is a chemical free cooking option and retain and enhances heat, Cas iron excels at retaining heat, which allows for excellent searing and will also keep food warm making ideal for serving at the table. Something to consider with Cast iron is that it is generally heavier than other types of cookware. The weight can be an advantage for heat retention but also may need to be considered for individuals with limited strength.
